Steamizer® Flare (EEF-HSA-QS)


Shutdown Items

1.0 Check purge system. (Refer to Purge Reduction checklists.)
2.0 Remove and check pilots. (Refer to EEP checklist.)
3.0 Inspect upper steam ring.
  3.1 Check all welds for cracking. Upper Steam Ring
  3.2 Check and clean steam holes.
  3.3 Check brackets for integrity.
  3.4 Remove and replace any pins or bolts connecting the ring to the brackets. (All are 310 SS.)
4.0 Inspect center steam nozzle.
  4.1 Check welds and drilling on center steam nozzle.
  4.2 Repair or replace if casting is cracked.
  4.3 Replace if holes show any indication of erosion.
5.0 Inspect steam connections.
  5.1 Replace steam flange gaskets if necessary.
  5.2 Check flange bolts for proper torque.
6.0 Inspect body of flare tip.
  6.1 Check all welds for cracking.
  6.2 Check for visible deformation of cylinder.
  6.3 Check flame retention ring segments. Replace any worn or missing segments.
7.0 Inspect SA muffler.
  7.1 Check and repair floor for deterioration. SA Muffler
  7.2 Replace any fiberglass that has been lost.
  7.3 Check muffler drains are open.
8.0 Inspect lower steam ring.
  8.1 Check for weld cracks.
  8.2 Replace any damaged steam jets.
  8.3 Check alignment of jet with SA tube entrance.
9.0 Inspect body flange (if applicable).
  9.1 If flange is opened, replace gasket with high-temperature gasket (Klinger 4500 or equal). Also replace all bolts in kind, complete with lock washers or double nuts.
  9.2 Replace and/or install double nuts on studs to proper torque specifications.
10.0 Inspect SA tubes.
  10.1 Check upper SA tubes. Replace any tubes that have collapsed to the point of reduced exit area. Upper SA Tubes
  10.2 Check welds at elbows. Repair or replace as necessary.
  10.3 Clean any accumulated coke or solids from SA tubes.
11.0 Check FFG. (Refer to Ignition checklists.)

Periodic On-line Items

1.0 Check purge system. (Refer to Purge Reduction checklists.)
2.0 Check pilots. (Refer to EEP checklist.)
3.0 Check FFG. (Refer to Ignition checklists.)
