Accomplishments
EPA Performance Track
The
EPA recognized John Zink Company as a top environmental performer and added the Tulsa-based company to its
select group of National Environmental Performace Track Program participants. Zink is one of only about
300 firms to qualify for the program, which recognizes companies that voluntarily exceed compliance and
regulation standards.
John Zink Company Earns ISO 14001 Certification
John
Zink Company has earned International Organization for Standardization 14001 certification for its environmental
management system. Certification, following review by a third party, confirms that Zink's system meets the
requirements of the internationally recognized ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Zink's world-class management system focuses on managing operations to protect the health and safety of
employees, customers, contractors, the public and the environment, and improving energy and resource use
in its manufacturing and test center facilities.

The ISO 14001 Certification was established to aid organizations that strive to achieve and demonstrate
sound environmental performance by controlling the impact of activities, products or services on the environment.
The international standards on environmental management are intended to provide organizations with the elements
of an effective environmental management system, which can be integrated with other management requirements
to achieve environmental and economic goals.
The ISO, a non-governmental organization established in 1947, is a worldwide federation of national standards
bodies from more than 140 countries. The mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization
and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and
service, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic
activity.
OHSAS 18001
John Zink Company has received the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series 18001. OHSAS 18001 is
an independent accreditation for Zink's Safety Management System. OHSAS 18001 has been developed to be compatible
with the ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems standards, in order to facilitate
the integration of quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems.
ISO 9001:2000
John
Zink Company has earned the international quality standard ISO 9001:2000 certification for its overall
quality management system. The accredited international certification body, Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance
Ltd., approved the certification confirming that John Zink's quality management system meets the requirements
of the internationally recognized standard.
Lloyd's Register awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification to John Zink after conducting an extensive audit
of the company's quality management system specifically in the areas of manufacturing, order execution,
contract acceptance, purchasing, vendor qualification, product development and quality control.

Star VPP
The
U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has confirmed John Zink's STAR Voluntary Protection
Program (VPP) certification after conducting a comprehensive review of the company's safety and health
management systems.
The prestigious STAR VPP designation recognizes John Zink's outstanding efforts at developing and implementing
systems to effectively identify, evaluate, prevent and control occupational hazards to prevent employee
injuries and illnesses.
John Zink's three-year OSHA Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR) is 74 percent lower than the industry average;
the company's three-year OSHA Days Away/Restricted/Transferred Cases (DART) rate is 92 percent lower than
the industry average.
